Rapid City is a rapidly growing community at the foot of the Black Hills. It is the second largest city in South Dakota with an estimated population of 81,000 (2000 census: 62,626.) There is a wide variety of restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and big-city services available here.
Unique to Rapid City is that it is the “gateway to the Black Hills” and all the recreation that comes with it. Fishing, hiking, climbing, camping, skiing, and mountain biking are just a few ideas of things to do in the Black Hills.
